We’re not all tech-lovers and designing a website can be intimidating. That’s why I walk you through the process step by step. My goal is to give you a website you will love, while making the process stress-free and enjoyable.

Our starting point is a Squarespace template, but your final site will be far from cookie-cutter. I will incorporate your colour palette, logo and branding, and add a healthy dose of custom CSS and coding to give you a website as unique as your business.

How it works
I’ll communicate clearly with you at every step in the process, so you enjoy a stress-free build, and at the end of it, you’ll have a gorgeous, hard-working website you can easily update and manage yourself.

STEP 1. PLANNING
We start with a strategy call to discuss your vision and goals for the website. We talk through what pages the site will have, any special features, and content, images and branding. To help me get a feel for your style, we’ll talk through some sites you like, and you’ll tell me how you want to be perceived by your clients. I will provide you with my 360 Content Guide to help you (or your copywriter) write great content for your website.

STEP 2. BUILD
A few days before build starts, you will provide me with the copy and any images and branding you want me to use. I will start by mocking up a homepage and getting your feedback. Next, I will get to work on completing the rest of the site pages and making sure it’s optimised for search visibility. We will do two rounds of revisions on the completed site to make sure you love the design, and that all the little details are just right.

STEP 3. LAUNCH
Launch time! On launch day - you will need to be available to set up your Squarespace account and connect your domain if you already have one. Don’t worry - I walk you through this step by step. Your website will be live quicker than you can say ‘wow, I love it’. And finally I will train you on managing the site going forward. You’ll get a recording of our Zoom call, a PDF help guide and email support in line with your package.

The design and build takes one week. We will schedule a start date when we book in your project. Design starts on a Monday, and you’ll be live in time for the weekend!

Working with an experienced freelance web designer is a great way to get value for money and a more personal service, along with top quality.

Yes, I’m happy to do that. Generally speaking, I require a 50% deposit to secure your design slot in my calendar, with the remaining 50% payable at launch - but I’m happy to work out a payment schedule if you would like to spread the payments over 3-4 months.

Yes! Squarespace is the ideal platform for business owners who want a really polished look and a site they can easily manage themselves, without having to rely on a developer for every little change. With my advanced SEO setup on all sites, you can also be sure your Squarespace website will be working hard to bring in the bacon.

I don’t do brand development, but I work with an amazing designer and will be happy to introduce you. She offers a complete branding package, including logo development, brand guidelines, typography pairings and asset design.
If you’re not ready for the full monty, I can help you select a colour palette and font combo for your site.

Yes, I will optimise your site for search by including meta titles, descriptions, image alt tags, and H1s. But do keep in mind that SEO is not a one-and-done deal. You will beed a long term strategy that includes creating great content and building links to your site.

Yes, although I’m currently based in the UK, I work with clients from all over the world. My proposals and invoices will be quoted in £GBP, but you can just as easily pay in $USD or €EUR.

Yes, your website will be built on Squarespace so you will need a hosting plan - for most clients it’s the Business Plan which is £17/month. I will create the site on my account and transfer ownership to you when we’re ready to go live. I’ll give you step-by-step instructions to get your Squarespace account set up.

Squarespace plans start from £12/month and cover your hosting, security, software updates and 24/7 customer support - however for most clients I recommend the business plan, which is £17/month and will allow us to customise your site much more.
